Case Studies
Jetstream has worked with industry-leading software
publishers and contributed to some of the most important and innovative
applications available.
Microsoft Office Group
Jetstream produced the Microsoft Office Compatible Toolkit, a source-based
MFC C++ class library that Microsoft distributed to their Office
Compatibility partners. The Office Compatibility program is a logo
certification and branding that identifies third-party products
that work well with Microsoft Office. The Compatibility Toolkit
educated developers on how to emulate Office UI features and how
to work with Office-supplied technical interfaces.
ST Labs
Jetstream redesigned and extended a tool that is used to emulate
the network traffic encountered using email in large organizations.
This tool made extensive use of MAPI and other COM technologies.
The emulator is used to simulate the load of thousands of typical
email users while creating and reading messages and scheduling appointments.
Microsoft DCOM Group
Jetstream desigend an innovative scheme for testing the "wire level"
representation of DCOM. These tests will be used to verify cross-platform
implementations of DCOM.
A Major Voicemail Manafucturer
This manufacturer asked Jetstream to advise them on security
and configuration issues for a major upcoming voicemail product.
Jetstream helped evaluate and design the filesystem, Internet, Intranet,
and account-based security aspects of the product.
Microsoft Management Console Group
Jetstream produced and documented the samples that show
developers how to support Microsoft Management Console, the future
single-source tool for all Microsoft administration tasks. The samples
will ship in the Microsoft Development Platform SDK and on the Intranet.
Jetstream has also helped evangelize this MMC technology at recent
Microsoft invitation-only briefings and at the upcoming 1998 Microsoft
Professional Developers Conference.
